Fundraising At Home

Do you have a favorite charity or cause that you are interested in raising money for, but don't know where to start? Home parties are a great way to raise awareness for your charity and raise funds for it in the process.

Throwing a party is a comfortable and fun way for your friends, family and acquaintances to get involved, become informed and lend a hand to you particular charitable organization. Start by putting together a guest list of the people you think would be interested. Next, plan a menu. Your menu can consist of anything from wine and cheese to a full meal, depending on your budget. It is also possible to have the food for the event donated, if you are willing to go out and ask local restaurants or caterers for help, in exchange for a little mention in your announcement or invitation. Keep in mind that the greater the expenses incurred, the less you will have raised overall for your charity.

Find a host or a suitable home for the number of guests you will be inviting.
Send invitations, but be sure to follow up with a phone call to ensure that the invitations were received if you don't get a quick response.
Choose someone to do a short presentation about half way through the party. The purpose of the presentation is to educate the guests as fully as possible about the issue the charity addresses. The presenter will then ask for a contribution.

There are many ways to make a difference and help contribute to the success of your favorite organization. Home fund raising parties can be extremely successful and are the most pleasant to put together in a rush.
